Because I think that our opinions are similar, we are in agree about a lot of things. This blog was really interesting for me. She is passionated for to be a teacher and i like it, because, right now I can say that I am in that way too (with some little differences, but in the same line). I like also, because she is aware about the actual need of learn english as a foreign or second language, in whaterver way we can the possibility to do it. Moreover, she made a very good blog, in terms of design, structure and ideas. It´s asy to read and to understand, I like it :D

MY WORST ENGLISH TEACHER

Well I should say that  by now she is not the worst, but at that time when I was at the School, she 
       
      I think my worst English teacher was when I was in  Seventh grade, She was and old lady who never talk in English and whose only goal was to bother us by rules of the school, like to wear uniform or learn by heart the hymn of the school. I remember she was so stricter so I felt scared about her.

She used to write the date on the board, and sometimes sentences like:

The time to study was just 2 hours a week, and most of the times were on Monday. It means we lost a great amount of classes. Living in a country like Colombia, you will know that the majority of Mondays of the year are holidays.

 If you are living in a country like this you will know that most Mondays are holidays, which means that classes that day's really very little. therefore what I studied in English class was so far an hour a week. (surely if the teacher to class and not sick or something)   

The Few classes that we had, for example she wrote on the board, for intance, the structures of the  different tenses, she does it like this:

---> Simple Present:

Aff::  SUBJECT +  VERB + COMPLEMENT
L.N. SUBJECT + negative form DO /DOES + main  VERB + COMPLEMENT
Question: AUX DO/DOES

Sh + A: YES,  SUBJECT + AUX
Sh - A  - NO,  SUBJECT + AUX NEGATIVE

All of that was really boring, annoying and also uncouragement. :(

But really she was not as worst as I though before to comprehend she was educated in another context and before to know friend's experiences who really had very bad teachers..

INTERESTING EXPERIENCE USING ENGLISH

 One of those many days that I used to spent into the closest library of mi house, in which I passed the time studying resubmit the national test knows as a "Prueba Pre - Saber" which evaluates your basic knowledge and  certifies you to enter at the Public Universities.

     Well that day I was into my  the languages room of the my favorite Library in Bogotà which is the "Luis Angel Arango" when an elderly couple came to and asked me if I knew where the lockers where, and If I could guide them, I was agree, and say yes, I really feel Exited because of the matter of talking with a foreign person.

Well I had been was studying English, but I had understood them, although I had never talked to anyone. I was very ashamed and I did not believe they would understand me. Then talk to them  with some basic vocabulary, and phrases I have read, they correct me part of the pronunciation and we help us each other by using paralanguage.

           

       Despite I  I just have studied grammar rules on my own, I did not listen or speak  very well in english. But the couple understand me and tell me I have a good accent and that my pronunciation was not too bad as I was telling them.

      It was a crazy and a happy experience, and it makes me felt confortable and encouraged me to continued study english to get accuracy and fluence on it.

I thougth especially  in English, becuase througth this languages I could communicate with people fron differents countries, as I did with the eldery couple, who were from Germany.  

WHY I WANT TO BE AN ENGLISH TEACHER

When I was in the school, I never learn english, maths and chemistry well, because tha Subjects, never prepared the classes, never explain to anybody, and I feel so bad, because when I left it, and realized that I did not know anything. 

Then, I proposed myself to change that issue, especially in the public schools, like mine, where the level was so low and everybody get out without the basic knowledges. 

There are many reasons for me to choose this career, I must admit that at the begining I choose it, because I have just wanted to learn   English. I never saw pedagogical  factor, I though it was just a plus.

Despite of that, in the time I have been studying it, I have learned to value it, because rather than learning the subject (English). In this profession lies a great social and human responsibility, because we as teachers are educating the pieople who are going to build up the future of our societies in every aspect of the life.

Why English??

English is the language of the world, is the easiest language to learn, because its structure, because its manners and because ithe language required to achieved en the  global village in  en la aldea global en la que vivimos actualmente.
